Recently restored, this charming property is nestled in the hills offering uninterrupted views of the valley with the Apuan Alps in the distance. Remote enough to feel like an escape, but perfectly located for exploring Tuscany, Casa Glaro is the ideal retreat for up to 5 people.
With your friends or family, your transfer from either Pisa or Genoa airports is respectively 30 or 50 minutes’ drive. Once installed you can visit both the beach at La Spezia and the mountains in
20-30 minutes. It is only a 2 minute drive to the local town of Cotto for basic amenities or 8 minutes to Fivizzano for supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. For the highlife, Portofino is an hour and ten minutes away and Lucca is an hour and twenty minutes away.
Traditional decor, dotted with treasures gathered from Africa and Morocco, gives great character to the charming, sociable rooms, creating a sense of cohesion throughout. The design tone is set from the house to the garden, with stone floors and all the traditional features that make a stay here, unmistakably Italian. Upstairs, the three bedrooms are all uniquely designed with two being en-suite. Lovely linens and comfortable beds ensure luxurious rest and well-being.
The graceful flow between the indoor and outdoor living space ensures you make the most of the beautiful Tuscan weather. The sun in the morning, draws you out of the house to the outdoors, as the living rooms open out onto an expansive terrace. From here you can access the large salt water 11 x 5m pool.
Relaxing round the pool with a glass of chilled wine in hand, may be as much as you want to do in this beautiful spot but when the tranquility of the area has worked its magic and re-energised you, there is much to see and do in the local area. You will be charmed by the little villages around you but can also visit Cinque Terre, Portovenere, Carrara, Parma - the list is endless. Whatever your interest - whether agritourism or the mountains or culture or vineyards - you can visit everything either in the car or on the mountain bikes that are provided by the house.
After a day’s sightseeing, the hot tub will relax you before you cook up a pizza in Casa Glaro’s pizza oven or drive for a few minutes to the local village for your evening meal.
