The Ortholithi Estate

Nestled amongst ancient olive trees on Corfu’s dramatic west coast, The Ortholithi Estate is a spectacular, sea front residence newly available for rental. Spread across 120,000 square metres of coastal land, the estate is fully staffed with golf buggies provided to travel between the various areas.

16 adults and two children or teenagers can be accommodated across five timber houses with 9 bedrooms between them. Careful planning and consideration for the natural landscape has gone into the design of the estate in order to maximize comfort, privacy and wellness. Materials and planting styles have been chosen to mirror the stunning surroundings, whilst solar power and recycling enhance the eco credentials.

The use of natural wood for the buildings, coupled with the terraced landscaped gardens, gives a sense of understated luxury and total seclusion within your own private oasis. Outstanding sea views extend along the striking west coast and over Ortholithi rock to the south, with glorious sunsets as evening falls.

Central to the estate is the main house, Villa Ortholithi, with spacious interiors, contemporary furnishings, large comfortable beds and en suite bathrooms. Clean lines and accents of bold colour in the open plan living area, main kitchen and home cinema evoke subtle sophistication. A large timber deck unites the interior and exterior living spaces with a variety of enticing seating options, a well-stocked library of books and small bar area. The focal point, at the heart of the decked area, is the inviting infinity pool seamlessly connecting to views of the horizon beyond.

Set slightly higher up, behind the main house, are three separate timber bungalows, each with a king sized bed and en suite bathroom. Another path leads from Villa Ortholithi to a striking wooden treehouse; the perfect setting for a small family or teenagers. Crafted around the trees, with large wooden terraces and floor to ceiling glass doors, this is a characterful and very private hideaway in the southerly part of the estate.

Further pathways wind through the wooded, shady grounds to The Beach House, a completely self-contained romantic hideaway for two which can be used during the day or for quiet night away from the villa. Situated just above the beach, complete with its own music system and a large private balcony, there are wonderful views out to the Ionian Sea. Here couples can enjoy a high level of privacy and the luxury of being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the sea.

The beach itself, with a private pontoon and huge sun deck complete with sunbeds and umbrellas - accessible by buggy, its the favourite spot for guests to enjoy the day. From here you can explore the coastline by kayaks, paddle boards or the estate’s own private yacht (available on request), or simply relax and sunbathe and enjoy the Ionian sea.

Within the grounds you will also find a small well-tended vegetable garden, a further 20-metre pool on an upper terrace near the bungalows, a children’s playground, well equipped gym studio and airy, mirrored yoga studio. Set apart from the other buildings is a massage cabin where you can book a variety of treatments. The spectacular waterfront tennis court is only a short distance away.

The discrete estate team will ensure that you are welcomed and looked after throughout your stay. The chefs can prepare a variety of freshly cooked local and international dishes to be served at one of the estate’s three dining terraces. The whole team is overseen by the on-site concierge, on-cal throughout the day, to ensure that everything runs slmoothly, to help with any specific requests or questions you may have and handle restaurant reservations.
