From Corfu aiport, drive for an hour up the east coast, and you’ll reach the inviting entrance to Dovecote House. The villa is perfectly placed for guests to make the most of all the attractions in the northeast of the island.

It’s just a 20-minute walk from St Stephano; there’s a rugged path directly below the house leading to the pretty fishing village. All the family can enjoy the catch of the day in one of the restaurants dotted around the horseshoe bay, before heading to the child-friendly sandy beach. It’s a great spot for teenagers, with bars and cafés that stay open long after the sun has set. There are also plenty of attractions within short driving distance, including a sailing school and tavernas at Avlaki beach (2.7km) and water sports at Kalami beach (4.8km), and for more nightlife, Kassiopi is the buzzing hub of north Corfu, 4.8km away. It’s easy to keep supplies in the villa stocked up; the supermarket in Sinies is just 600m down the road.

The villa is arranged over two levels, with two double bedrooms on the ground floor and four double/twin bedrooms on the lower ground floor, one of which has direct outside access. All bedrooms are sumptuously furnished and have ensuite bathrooms or shower rooms. On the ground floor, a fully equipped modern kitchen leads into the large, open plan living and dining area. It also opens out through French doors onto a sunny dining terrace, with a pizza oven for fun al fresco meals all the family can get involved in. This upper terrace extends along the length of the villa, with comfortable, lounge-style seating, from which to admire the mesmerising view. Heading down to the lower terrace, sun loungers line the 12.5m infinity pool, which melts into the azure sea below. Guests can escape from the sun for a workout in the villa’s private gym, or chill out in front of a film in the comfortable home cinema.
