Villa Montagnola

Villa Montagnola is a traditional Tuscan country house set in a large private estate, half an hour outside Siena. Originally a farmhouse, it’s been converted into a seven-bedroom luxury villa that’s fully serviced in high season, with its own pool and access to the estate’s tennis court.

The Cetinale Estate lies at the foot of La Montagnola Senese, an area of lush wooded hills filled with wildlife. Villa Montagnola sits at the end of a private road within the estate, next to the magnificent gardens, which are among the most beautiful in Italy. The villa is 5km from Sovicille, a historic town with churches dating back to the 12th century. Here, you’ll find a selection of restaurants and cafes, as well as other local conveniences. Siena is just 14km from the villa, an enchanting city of medieval architecture and exquisite art that’s not to be missed. Florence is about an hour’s drive from the villa and is the nearest airport.

While benefiting from the estate’s gardens and tennis court, Villa Montagnola is also a completely independent property with its own garden, 12m swimming pool and table tennis table. A former farmhouse and pigsty, it’s now a luxury villa with four poster beds and roll top baths, yet still retains a rustic charm. This large property has seven bedrooms and five bathrooms spread over four floors, and the two bedrooms on the first floor are air-conditioned. Outside, overlooking the manicured gardens there’s a pergola with a large dining table where guests can indulge in regional cuisine and wine while savouring the surroundings.

A team of trained professionals manage the estate and maintain every inch of it to a very high standard. Rental of Villa Montagnola includes housekeeping six days a week and pool cleaning five days a week. Bed linen, towels and pool towels are provided and changed weekly. If you stay between May and September, a private chef will cook a daily meal six days a week, and cooking lessons can also be arranged on request.
