Designed to sleep up to 12 guests, the house features six spacious en suite bedrooms and offers a seamless blend of modern architecture and natural materials. Defined by clean lines and a series of cube-like structures, the property feels both bold and grounded, carefully positioned beneath a canopy of trees for complete privacy—entirely hidden from the beach, yet just a short walk away.
Six en suite bedrooms are spread across three levels, each with access to a terrace or garden. The master suite occupies the top floor, where the main living spaces are also located. Here, guests will find the kitchen, as well as open-plan dining and living areas, spilling out onto the large terrace and swimming pool. Four further en suite bedrooms are on the floor below, with one more bedroom one level lower. Natural materials such as raw concrete, stone, timber, and reed bring texture and warmth, softening the clean architectural lines.
The top floor features a large swimming pool alongside the main living areas, while the battlement-style rooftop terrace offers a spectacular vantage point for sunset views. Every level is designed to connect with the outdoors, creating a sense of openness and tranquillity. Surrounded by lush greenery, the house is immersed in nature, with fruit trees and a vegetable garden producing papayas, mangoes, watermelon, passion fruit, rocket, and aubergines.
The setting offers a unique blend of seclusion and local culture. Wander through narrow, winding lanes to discover boutique shops and cosy cafés, or spend your days strolling along Shela’s expansive beach, which stretches for miles. For a more leisurely experience, cruise along the coastline in traditional dhows and take in the beauty of this unspoilt corner of Kenya’s coast.
