Santa Croce

Santa Croce is a tastefully restored, ivy-clad 3-bedroom villa situated within one of Italy’s most prestigious private country estates. Positioned on the very top of Monte Santa Croce, it commands 360° views over the estate and unspoilt Umbrian countryside. The estate itself extends over 18,000 acres, and is a real haven in which to unwind. A few minutes away there’s a grocery store and just a little further the village of Pierantonio with bank, shops etc.

Rooms are spacious and light, with bleached beamed ceilings, pale tiled or wooden floors and calm colours. The large living room has deep cushioned sofas, shelves of books and carved stone fireplace. An oval table for six, lit by a chandelier, stands in the adjoining dining room; both rooms have large glass doors opening to the terrace. The fitted kitchen is well equipped as is the next door laundry room. Upstairs are two king size rooms, each with spacious en-suite modern bathrooms, and a further en-suite room with double four poster bed. Air conditioning and high speed wi-fi are throughout.

Doors from the dining room open to a terrace with al fresco dining area for eight, under the shade of a wooden pergola, edged with Mediterranean style plants. Further along are comfortable armchairs and sofas. A separate eating space is set up on the kitchen terrace to enjoy breakfasting outside, and a barbecue area has seating for six. Set within the lawns is a 13m infinity pool around which are sunbeds, parasols and tables. There’s also a very inviting teak hammock.
